Life span of end platform cars 1890s to 1970s. Life span of 44 class
1950s to 1990s. Seems like a good deal of overlap there. I will admit
that 48s and end platform cars were more common, especially on the
Illawarra and in Newcastle, but 44s were used with end platform cars.
