Didn't Northern Rivers Railroad get these carriages?  If so, they're
advertising a new "Ritz" train (was on the ng a couple of weeks ago).


You're right.  The ex SA cars were stored at Goulburn Roundhouse for quite a
while before going north.  Externally they became very faded and it was a
pity to see a formerly prestige train unused and in that condition.  It's
also a shame that the 'South Steyne' , the greatest Manly ferry which was
also operated on Port Phillip bay under the same ownership, is now a static
restaurant at Darling Harbour, its massive triple expansion engine silent.
