A spot of gunzeling (Thurs 24/6)

Used my day off wisely (??) by heading North East (while it seems
everybody else headed for the Bendigo line for X47!), and wasn't
disappointed.

Got to Donnybrook at around 1300hrs, found the Apex was cancelled, so
hence headed further north to Broadford. Stopped at the up end of the
loop, hmm, top green, something's coming .....about 1440 a single NR
leading a down freighter (MB2??) shows up. Shortly after the up Albury
pass roared through (N loco-N set). Then proceeded to the down end of
Broadford for that lovely 'S' curve, got NR+NR-up goods (BM2??) at about
1530, followed shortly after (about 1545) by X+X+X on the up Tocumwal.
Time to hit the highway, back to Donnybrook where 2 Sprinters were
waiting on the down line...bewdy, I've beaten the Toc, get a photo of it
on the straight on the up side, about 1 min later another up SG goods
with a pair of NR's roars through. Then its by foot to the up BG
starting signal where the empty Sprinters are WLC, get another shot,
back to the down end for A class -PH- H set on the down local. About to
head for home, but wait there's more! G531 quietly creeping into
Donnybrook loop No. 2 road, just enough light for a photo as a pair of
NR's lead a northbound freighter. It was about 1730 by then and the sun
was setting.

Back to work tomorrow *sigh*

Cheers,
CH.
