I am only 20, so they are older then me. But now they have low level
platforms the Z's can't be on route 70. Already I have been told there
have been some swaps of Z for A from Zew depot. So Camberwell will have
no Z's. Kew will have a few to run on route 34. (La Trobe st shuttle)

I always through it was stupid boarding by the front door and off the
back. It worked sometimes but during bussy times it didn't work and
took far too long. (don't worry I spent 6 years catching them each day
with a sitted conductor)

Didn't Swanston Street have some sort of platforms at some time? Hence
the reason that the VR trams couldn't run down Swanston Street (they were
too wide)

: Hey, when the Z's were introduced there was not such thing as low level platforms. If
: there had of been then maybe the front doors would have been moved. Also the doors were
: there for entry of passengers only, you exited by the other doors only, and in that way
: the driver (remembering that the conductor was seated and did not give the ok to restart
: from stops) could move the people getting on a faster so that he could close the doors and
: start away. A bit hard if you can't see it clearly. The exiting passengers generally
: exited a lot faster than the boarding passengers and so he could rely on the mirrors to
: monitor these doors.

: And also don't forget that the Z1's are now around 18-20 years old. How old are you?
