Nine sawmills join forces

In a ground-breaking venture, almost half of East Gippsland's sawmills
have united to build a manufacturing operation that will export
high-quality hardwood products.


The operation will be built near the Bairnsdale railway line as a
carrot for rail operators to re-open the disused track to take the
product to port. By re-opening the rail line, the venture would also
be a huge catalyst for economic development in East Gippsland.
