G'day,
for the benefit of those who can do some power calculations, I have the
following 'landmark' times for R711 up the Ingliston Bank last Sunday.
Does anybody know the distances of these locations....load was 7
vehicles for 296t.
Bacchus Marsh 0949 (this is 51.12km)
Ironbark Gully road-under bridge 0954 (I reckon this is at 35 miles in
my curves & grades book, so that's 56.45km)
Dog Trap Road (?) road-over bridge 0958
Bank Box Loop Up End 1003
BBL Down End 1005
Auto Signal A713 1010 (this appeared to the be at the top of the steady
1-in-48)
Ballan 1018 (79.680km)
There's constant 1-in-48 from the Ironbark Gully bridge to Bank Box
Loop, and nearly constant 1-in-48 to just after the 44 mile post
(looking at curves & grades book, I reckon that auto is in the vicinity
of this point).
Pity the Dynamometer car is no longer with us!
Regards,
CH.
