I rode on the train and as I remember, 6042 didn't b;ow a piston ring,
it was the fireman's side leading Cardew Valve that was stuck open.  It
ran like that through the entire trip at least from Borenore when 5367
failed (?) on a photostop and forced the photoline to run off after the
train while it ran on ahead to reverse the locomotive order (putting
6042 in front of 5367.)
