As a Victorian enthusiast who cut his teeth on the classic loco with the
two stroke chant, I agree entirely. To show just how good these veterans
are witness the return to traffic of some 422's. OK I know there are some
alcos still in traffic but they appear to be confined mostly to local work
in Sydney.

B61 now in WCR care is a grand old lady of as many years as me and although I hope to outlife her I'll bet she will be around for a few years yet. And there are still 4 S classes still in traffic.

My favourite numbers are 567, 645 and latterly 710. 251 (or even 244) are well down the list.
