The problem with all of the named trains is that they are very similar - a
bit like touring USA by Amtrak.

To get scenery and variety, and the feeling that you got to Australia,
go for QR's Savannahlander.  It takes three days, but should be the most
memorable part of the holiday:
one day by bus Cairns - Forsayth
one day by railmototor Forsayth - Mt Surprise
second day by railmotor Mt Surprise - Cairns, including the scenic Kuranda
portion
The trip also runs the other way round.
