Not an awful lot of people shop in the city now, with all the suburban
shopping centres. Frankston, Belgrave and Pakenhams can fill up and empty
out twice on a journey from the city to a terminus during the off peak. I
think someone has been reading the signs of the times and recognised that
there is a lot more revenue to be garnered tapping into fresh markets. With
a good advertising campaign, it might end up quite well patronised. Perhaps
it is a sign of things to come.

I'm assuming they will be 3-car comengs as well unless they want to leave a
6-car train on pl 2 at Camberwell for 20 mins. Seems very stupid not to run
it through to the city (express Camberwell-Glenferrie-Richmond-Flinders
street)
