Interesting to see the route map at

Alice Springs - the easternmost looking suspiciously like the old narrow
gauge
route. Is this a stuff-up by a graphic artist or what?

Probably is, although they could be giving that presevervation group a bit
of a free advertising plug. I don't know any graphic designers or autocad
types who are railfans of any description. Most graphic designers,
advertising and marketing types are a bit like the media. Trains, and all
that, a train is just a train to them. I am surmising from this map that the
old roadbed is being used. I am a bit surprised. I knew a fireman who had
fired steam to Adelaide River. He told me shock horror stories about floods
and the permanent way swimming around. I hope someone told these overseas
investors about floods in the outback.
