[VIC] 1999 tours. What's your opinion?

Now that the 1999 tour season has come to an end, what were your
favourite Victorian tours?

Here is what mine were:

Overall, I would have to say the ARE Portland tour was the best tour
because it visited a very unusual destination with carriages and locos
that aren't normally used for tours (G534 and GSR Overland sitting cars)
over the new standard gauge line. I would have to say that the best
broad gauge tour of 1999 (in my opinion) would have to be a tie between
the ARHS/ARE "Echuca Both Ways" tour and the WCR "Two R's to Ballarat"
tour (today's one). The most unusual (and slowest!) tour would have to
be the ARHS F class sidings tour. :-)

I think 1998 was an excellent year for Steamrail but their tours in 1999
have been rather average. <understatement> I think 2000 will be just a
little bit better! :-) </understatement>
