I remember when I first went to the sparks in 1975, I transfered to
Sandringham to get a rostered position (as it took years to get off Flex in
those days), the younger drivers at Sandy (yes I was young once) had a bit
of a competition going, we all knew where we would cross each other during
certain shifts so we would put up unusual destinations to try to out do each
other. Depending on whether you had a Tait/Harris or Hitachi you could come
up with some rare terminating destinations:

CARNEGIE, Moorabin, East Malvern, Elsternwick, Croydon, Rosanna, South
Morang City Circle, City Loop (not in use then) Mentone, Seaford, Coburg,
etc.

The Swing Doors had Healesville and Healesville/Warburton on the blinds, one
Swing Door set used on the Sandy line had perminent (painted) headboards, on
the East End Motor it had "Brighton Beach" whilst the West End Motor had
"Flinders Street", this set (if I remember right) only did one trip a day,
running in to town in the morning being stabled in the Western Car Sidings
("A" Box) then returning to Brighton Beach that evening.
