Re: Lack of Railway Magazines in Newsagencies

Regarding Kim's comment below, I've also found the Transit Centre Newsagency
at Roma Street to have more railway magazines than other newsagencies
around Brisbane. The 24 hour newsagency on Gympie Rd at Aspley usually
has a good selection as well.

I've been told by one newsagency that there are different levels for
the number and type of magazine a newsagency stocks. A newsagency can
order outside their level but they usually only do so when there has
been a request from a customer.

The problem with Brisbane is that there is nothing equivalent to the
ARHS Redfern bookshop or Melbourne Railfan Shop. The Railway Shop
at South Brisbane station has been asked many times to increase the range
of magazines they stock but they haven't. It would be good if
someone could set up a Railfan type shop in Brisbane to stock the more
specialised type of rail and other transport publications.
