No actually,  not always.

The Value fares that you quote are return fares, whilst you are comparing
them with Aussie single fares!

The Virgin site is a bit misleading in that it is not clear that they are
return fares.  Silly Virgin, if they are as hopeless as this in promoting
their discount air fares fares, Qantas have not got much to worry about!

Click on the booking icon to get into the detailed fares calculator at
www.virgintrainsfares.co.uk. (but not beween 2330 and 0400 GMTwhen they are
asleep, which is a bit of a pain for us downunder)
