You won't get an arguement from me on that one, (except) the need for HIGH
Beam is questionable, because it has a tendency to dazzle the on coming
traffic, ie Road Traffic, plus the continual need to put the light to low
beam when crossing other trains in a suburban enviroment.

One of my biggest gripes about AN (and NRC) locos is that the low beam is
too bright, the arguement by Sth Aussie crews was, "But you can't see where
your going if we addopt the V?Line standard"!!!.

My arguement was (within reason), Its not essential for you to see where
"YOUR" going, but it is for others to see you coming!!!!

Regarding running on high beam, when running beside a main road out in the
country, the driver (contrary to the Rules) is forever flicking the head
light from high to low because of on coming road traffic.
