Well this morning was certainly interesting on the Melbourne public
transport system. As my train was pulling into Oak Park this morning, i saw
this platform pass, then all of a sudden a nice drop, and grass... I was on
the last carriage. We had overshot by 2.5 carriage lengths, driver makes
announcement "there will be a delay in opening the doors" and walks the wet
way to the down end of the train to drive it back into place. Okay, nothing
too exciting.
Waiting at flinders street for my usual down eltham/hurstbridge train, I
saw at 12:23 a Hitachi pulling through road 1A (heading up), missing 3
cars. Possibly the first 3 car Hitachi ive seen under it's own power since
ancient times (excepting the Upfield line while Citylink works were being
done) - Leading was 7M.
Then just as i thought things were interesting enough to regret taking
along my camera, through Platform 2 came P11 (heading up), ok nothing
unusual, probably doing a loco changeover from the Stony Point line... but
behind it was set FN9, then P15 behind (running push/pull). First time ive
ever seen a P or any amount of P's at the head of an N set of any sort.
Does anyone know what happened here?
Next time, my camera's coming along with me :-)
Regards
Michael
