That's Interesting Maurie. Do you have any other consumption
figures for other EMD engines?

When we work an Heavy train up the Mountains from Enfield to
Lithgow , 81's with their 16-645 engines use about 1200 to 1500 litres.
That's for 150 klm about which approx. 90 ins in notch 8.
the rest of the time in some lower notches. Bare in mind that
the train needs to ascend from about 50 metres to 1050 metres 
and then descend to 900 metres in about 3 1/2 hours of running.
