Re: Westlander to Charleville

Whoops! Apologies for that error. Bit hard to find the details at the
moment since I'm away from home and my memory is getting a bit flaky. Can't
blame alcohol for the problem either, nor is it too late in the evening.
Must have been thinking too much about the 3 berths per cabin! (After all,
2nd class sleepers in NZ had two berths per cabin).

The reason being sole occupant was so good was that you could set up the top
bunk for sleeping, leaving the other two as for day use, so you could swap
from sleeping to sitting whenver you felt like it. No need to call the
attendant.

Contrary to David Johnson, I didn't feel the need for a sleeping bag - the
bedding supplied was sufficient. Perhaps the air conditioning wasn't as
efficient as it could be? Either that or Sydneyites have thinner blood.

As far as costs go, I was travelling on a Sunshine Rail 14-day pass.
Sleeper was an extra $30. Pass was great for meandering around the suburban
network in Brisbane during the enforced layovers between long distance
trains (only two per week IIRC, except for the main east coast line).

Cheers
Michael
