The more things change.......

the more they stay the same.

Several years ago, there were four different computer reservations systems
across the country - Qld, NSW and WA all had their own systems, and Voctoria
and AN co-operated to produce the one system.

Then they all got together and agreed to have just the one system. The
result? TRAINS, which works much better than all of the others, in terms of
having entire journeys on the one PNR, etc. WestRail decided to pull out at
the last minute, and stayed with their own system.

Now, all of a sudden, we have gone back to four systems - WestRail with
their original system, GSR have recently introduced their own system,
closely followed by the new operators of VLP - leaving TRAINS to cater for
only NSW and Qld.

And who said that privatisation improves things? They only go back to the
old way of doing things!
