I've rarely had any problems in NSW, but that is normally outside the Sydney
Metro area. While in Dubbo in January myself and another photographer were
inside the fence near the level crossing at the station, someone came over
from the station and said we should be wearing vests. I offered to get mine
from the car but he let us stay as long as we weren't too close to the
tracks.
I also got yelled at by the SM at Albion Park Rail once for daring to stand
in the old goods yard area and take video of 5910.
