Melbourne's 4D set - Where does it run.

I'm off to Melbourne early Tuesday for a couple of days and want to try and
have a ride on the 4D set to compare its ride etc. with Tangaras.

I understood that the train only ran on the Burnley group of lines although
I've only ever heard direct reference made to it running between Ringwood
and the city.

Can anyone advise of 4D's territory?

Does it always run?

Does it have a set run(s)?  If so what is it/are they?

Anything else in Suburban Melbourne that's a must see these days (I last
left Melbourne on the 1st SEX however many years ago)?
