The 220 series SMU has quite a few differences to the 200 series. Firstly,
the nose cone is shaped like an IMU with a moulded yellow pilot and IMU
style side windows on the drivers cab. The front is painted yellow, the
windscreen is bordered in maroon.

The paint style on the side of the nose cone is new with a series of short
maroon and blue lines up the side culminating with the maroon stripe which
spans the length of the coach. The passenger doors are painted bright
yellow.

There is now only one large A/C unit mounted in the roof in the middle of
the coach. The standard arrangement is to have two small A/C units per
coach, one above each doorway.

The new consist is motor - trailer - motor. 200 series are motor - motor -
trailer. The extremely loud oil impellers have been done away with. Oil
cooling has reverted to the system used on EMU's - a radiator style cooling
grid.

I have not had a chance to inspect the interior but I have been informed
that surveillance cameras have been mounted in the passenger vestibule.
