Re: Comments/corrections - VR map

Excellent job Mark!

I cant resist pedantry though (yes it is legal).

Yes, but I THINK that there was only one Yallourn station not two
different ones, and that when the line from Hearnes Oak was closed and the new
one from Moe opened, the new line entered the station yard from the opposite
end. There was probably a short time when both lines were open so you could
have done a loop.

And yes, Hearnes Oak definitely does have two e's despite the current MTP. I
have played many a cricket game on Hearnes Oak oval in my youth. (Not scored
many runs though).

Also, there were branch lines to racecourses at Lal Lal, Bungaree and Burrumbeet
in addition to those mentioned by others at Ballarat, Bendigo and Geelong.

Whilst you exclude private railways, what about two non-trivial lines which I
think are/were government owned - Maryvale (east of Morwell) and State Mine
(East of Wonthaggi). In the same category could be the SEC interconnecting
railway Yallourn to Morwell.

What about the Tallangatta diversion - there were two Tallangatta stations over
time.

There was once a station called Portland North. The section from Portland North
to Portland was closed (in the '60s I think), and Portland North renamed
Portland.

Real picky this one - Albury is not a NSWGR staion - god knows who owns it
nowadays.

Finally, I know the title "Victorian Lines" is taken from the long running
series of maps published by the VR, but what exactly is the scope? Is it:

1. Railways in Victoria or
2. Railways owned by Victorian based organisations

the answer will determine whether or not it is necessary to extend the lines
from Rennick and Serviceton westward to the SA border
