Broken Hill

Has anybody been to Broken Hill in recent times? It just occurred to me
the other day that the facilities provided 30 years ago for
standardisation would be getting worn out, obsolete and just plain
redundant by now. I should say more redundant. There was obviously no
shortage of money in those days as the unnecessary facilities at
Peterborough bear witness. BH was designed so that freight trains could
bypass the station but as there were never many passenger trains and all
freight terminated for a crew and engine change it was all a waste of
money. The big toy was the relay interlocking which centrally controlled
the whole yard.

So my question is:

Is BH still operated from the central panel? Is the yard still provided
with the lavish facilities provided in 1969?
