I think that SillyRail realises they will have an industrial sh*Tfight on
their hands if they even think about abolishing guards before the Olympics,
and this is the last thing the government wants in the lead up to:
a) the election, which will be on the last Saturday in March 1999 (cannot be
earlier OR later, under the NSW Constitution); and
b) the Olympics, particularly as IOC reps will become more or less permanent
residents of Sydney the closer we get.
