This is almost the same as the Clyde/Freightcorp deal with the 82/90 class. In
this case there are
2 of 31 spare 90 class and 3 of 58 spare 82 class. The spares are there to replace
a unit that has failed or come in for rostered maintenance. If the unit cannot be
replaced by a spare Clyde is penalized financially. Also there is a percentage
availability clause in this contract. There are penalties for breech of this also.
The Gonninan/NRC contract was based on the Clyde/Freightcorp one.
