Splitting of VR S Class Locos "back in the days"

Recent correspondance in the page would indicate that VR S  classes
fitted onto 70' turntables with their longer tenders.

NOT SO!

A ex VR Fitter friend of mine tells me how S classes always had to be
split if turning was required at their home depot of Seymour!

This was definetly not a popular job, but sometimes necessary depending
on what way the Pacific had to head next roster.
