I heartily DISagree with your comment on this one - the worst thing about the
Brisbane XPT is the 0600 arrival (it is worse during NSW Daylight Saving -
0500), particularly for sleeping car passengers. This is made worse by
Countrylink insisting on switching on the main carriage lights at 0500, to
enable passengers to have breakfast, when what most want is sleep - something
they do on the Melbourne XPT as well.

The ideal arrival time for an overnight service is around 0700 - 0730, as
things are open when you arrive, the sun is up, it is not freezing cold
(depends on weather of course), suburban transport is working (except in
Brisbane on a Sunday morning, but that is another subject).
