In which case the protection of the vehicles is a very good step.  As I
understand, one (although probably not the only factor) reason for the
loss of this traffic was damage to the vehicles.  Some friends in
Wangaratta reckoned the local vandals would tie a brick on a rope from
an overpass - it would smash every windscreen on the upper deck.
