This morning the machine on the tram ate my ticket.  I rung up the metcard help
line and they will send a refund for the portion of the monthly ticket left.  It
is very simple all you need to know is the serial number of the validator and
the tram number and the route number and the time (of eating) and persional
detials about you.  So it works out I will get about $35 for my $62 monthly
back.

But in the Future I will not Validate my ticket unless:
* There is someone manning the "all other tickets" exit/enterence or
* I am getting on to a bus with a validator.

Once they bring out Metcard Xpress next century I will validate my ticket all
the time
