	Its been proposed numberless times in countless science fiction
	stories.

	It was built and operqated (at full scale, tho experimentally,
	and for transit, not HS work, under Manahattan, NY< USA, ca 1870.

	One was proposed and tunnelling started under London, UK, about
	the same time...
