Sounds like the level crossing brigade that was once the haunt of steam
trips around Adelaide a few years ago.  *Very* annoying for those of us
into sound recordings, as there would be some nice sounds of steam
trains flogging up hills, interrupted by roaring car engines, squealing
brakes, slamming doors, loud voices, train passing, more loud voices,
more slamming doors, more loud engines, squealing tyres, and more train
noises.
Oh, and yes it is very amusing for our loco crews, and we have only got
10 miles of track!
