Re: Overland cutbacks - date?

Terry Burton asked about RTS:
RTS is either Rail Technical Services or Rail Technical Support Group. It
is a privatised maintenance operation, based in the former sg carriage shed
at South Dynon. It has a former WAGR/Westrail/GNRS J-class loco painted
blue, and lettered 'RTS' prominently. This was used to shunt the Overland
into and out of the dead-end platform 2 at Spencer St. Platform 1, which
has an sg loop, was occupied by an XPT (not requiring the loop) at these
times. This was because of the refuelling facility, which was built to
serve platform 1.
Krel's reference to Radial Tuned Suspension was a pun on the name, and
nothing to do with the mechanics of the loco.
