Locotrol

There was a suggestion some time ago (possible more than a year ago) that State
Freight, in whatever guise, was considering a proposal to trial Locotrol
equipment (i.e. a system of having mid-train locomotives), very much like what
occurs on the Qld coalfields, and also on BHP Iron Ore (??).  The idea was
primarily in relation to Hunter Valley coal traffic.

Does anyone know if this was ever a serious proposal, or whether it was not
pursued following the arrival of the 90-classes ??
