2-foot cane tramways in Queensland - new book

To all fellow train fans and loco fanatics.

In a period of approximately 22 weeks from June to November each year,
Queensland cane growers harvest around 35,000,000 tonnes of cane. Almost
all of this cut cane is transported along a part of the 2,000 kilometres of
2-foot gauge cane tramways to sugar mills and refineries, where it is used
to produce around 5,000,000 tonnes of molasses, treacle and various types of
crystalline sugar.

My friend Andrew Roberts is a driver’s assistant at Farleigh Sugar Mill, and
wrote a book about the cane tramways and the engines used to haul the cane.
He does not have Internet access, so I am helping him to publicize the book.
I regularly visit each of the 23 mills and I am happy to answer any
questions you might have via email, but please send all orders with payment
directly to the author via snail-mail to the address listed below.

Best wishes
