What happened to the 73 class locos.

There is still one in service. XPT centre shunter 7301.

It was used to haul the failed Up Brisbane XPT service (NT-2) from
Gosford to Sydney on Thursday Night / Friday Morning last week. Believe
it or not!!!

Passengers were forwarded on N192 Intercity service running about 40
minutes late. The 73 class made hard work of it on Cowan bank, assisted
by the rear unit only on the XPT. Down to 20kph on the hill, and
overheating, so I'm told.
