As I understand it the contract for the maintainence of the NR class
states that only NRC drivers will drive NRs. It took a lot of fancy
negotiations before V/Line Fuel Point staff were allowed to move them
a length or two at the fuel point in South Dynon. Besides which if the
slug was a total failure in the section the first available crew and
loco would be used. Wouldn't it ???????
