Fuel wouldnt be a problem with the light load , but the airconditioning 
missing wouldnt help.
However another option would be for Countrylink to hire just 1 80 class and 
use it instead.
80s are airconditioned , can run at full speed to both Griffith & Broken 
Hill,and are now surplus to Freightcorps requirements.
If they were considered not reliable , you could get 2 and run them both ,in 
case one failed.
