I seem to recall an obscure plan to re-route the sydney XPT train from the
line from Albion to Jacana to Melbourne Airport as a standard guage link
and also to re-route freight trains there as well so as to provide
interstate train station at the airport and a massive combined
road-rail-air freight centre ther as well.  This would only require a short
loop too the ariport and back towards the line to Broady.  Fast suburban
trains could be provided as well from a broad guage loop from the same
link.
