Becoming a train driver in Vic/Melbourne?

Hi all, I am 18 years old and have had a strong interest in railways for many
years now. I am just wondering what sort of requirements are needed to become
a driver for either The Met (Hillside & Bayside Trains now) or V/Line. Such
things as education and other things? What sort of education/training is
provided in the process? Where would i apply to?
