Hi Michael,

I am not aware any train driving position available in Victoria (both
The Met or V/Line) for a while now, though these positions usually
offered internally first. Rumour has it that more redundency packages
will be available in the near future and I know a few people
(unfortunately, friends working in station/operation areas) are very
interested!!

Then again, who know what will happen after privatisation, private
operators may have different ideas? Just have to wait and see. As far
as education is concerned, you certainly don't need a university degree
for it. Full training is provided by the P.T.C.

Cheers,

I.C.
