Yesterday's Indian Pacific

Despite the best efforts of the loco deployment officers in Adelaide,
no "coloured" locos were available to work the IP yesterday, mainly
due to "last minute" problems that developed.
WL-2 departed Coota nearly one hour ahead of schedule - taking a
number of gunzels by surprise. By Picton it was almost back on
schedule.
WL-1 was running about 30 minutes behind through Picton to Exeter.
Conditions for photography/video were excellent, with the day being
topped off with the rostering of 42210, 42206 & 42219 on 2138 oil
train from Canberra, which ran through from Exeter to Menange in
superb late afternoon sunlight.
