  Hi,
thanks for all these responses on this thread and the related ones
regarding the working of the night passenger trains. 

I never realised that one day I would be able to contact the actual
crews. My previous knowledge was from ARHS type magazines which
generally I find reasonably accurate. While you people were out
working in the early hours of the morning I was tucked up snug in bed!
