Mont Park Railway

I have never heard any history of this line branched from Macleod station on
Hurstbridge line to somewhere near Mont Park hospital/Latrobe University
area, only thing I heard is it is about to convert to a bike way.

Anybody can povided me any information about this line's history and whenever
any passennger train ever operate on it before? The suburban railway map did
not showed this line.
