I understand that Cooks Construction lost the rail brown coal haulage
contract at Yallourn from July 31st.  They have been using ex-QGR DH-class
B-B diesel hydraulic locomotives on the 900mm gauge line. I understand that
the rival, successful, contractor may have purchased some 1067mm gauge Gemco
4w diesel hydrostatics used by the Hydro in Tasmania.

Can someone confirm this and provide any further details?
