Question about Adelaide metro rail

In Adelaide all the metro rail cars are based in the city centre but
the other day I went up to Gawler (a town located on northern edge of
city/country...about 30 kms from city centre). Just down from Gawler
station I noticed at least ten rail cars parked there. Not at a
platform or anything just by themselves.
Is this some type of second depot?? Is there any more?
It was on ANZAC day and from what I could see there was nothing
special happening up there.
