My understanding of the 30 series of numbers is as follows:
30 - Latrobe Street tram between Spencer Street and Brunswick Street
31 - Collins Street b/w Spencer and Brunswick Streets
33 - William Street and City Road b/w cnr City Rd/Kingsway and Dudley St
34 - East Melbourne Hoddle Street (often shows Punt Rd on destination roll)
along Victoria Street and Latrobe St to Spencer St
32, 35,36,37,38 all used to be William Street variations of St Kilda Rd
trams with similar numbers eg 32 is William St variant of 72, 35 of 5, 36 of
6 37 of 67, 38 of 8 and I think 34 used to be William St variant of 64.
I doubt 33 is a Southbank route as it is normally worked by Essendon Depot
trams, I would suggest that 31 is the one you are thinking of.
