The wharfies are a formidable lot. Not only is/was crime a very big part
of it......In the old days they would "hit" anyone that did not toe the
line! But they have a very long arm, which reaches all over the World.
I suspect that the 45 odd ships sitting at anchor in ports
all over Australia will be recieving cables from Head Office any time now,
instructing them to get the Hell out of Australia.
Any ship loaded by scabs in Australia will not be unloaded
any where in the Western World. They would be Bankrupted!
The Govenment has got its propaganda machine up and running. Lots of us
fools are cheering them on. Thank God they took on the Wharfies
first.....They can beat the Government! I dont think one outher Union
could!......If the Government defeats the Wharfies, the
Union movement is destroyed in Australia.
Everybody in a short time will be effectively SACKED, and
some will be re-employed on WORKPLACE CONTRACTS,
which will effectively cut wages by 25-40%. Annual Leave back to Two weeks,
No overtime Penalties, 12 hour days, whenever the Boss likes, No
Superannuation, No Health and Safety, etc, etc. Unemployment will double,
and the Dole, which is being eroded already will be unavailable to most!!!
The Few Rich bastards in this Country, in fact in the
World, will not allow a large part of the Population to climb out of the
slums and add to an already large middle class. It is time for them to
destroy the uppity middle class, create a War or a Depression
and take back the Riches which everyone knows belongs to them!
