Sorry guys - ASW (Actually it is called Section Authority System) is NOT
responsible for the low speed. The condition of the top is, however.
The curves are not so very well aligned (!) and the bridges and level
crossings are similarly out of alignment. Generally there seems to be a
lack of ballast depth, and the whole track needs a lift. What is of
more concern to we who work over it (and I don't work for V/Line OR NR -
can you guess who? Yes - there IS now a third interstate frieght
operator in Victoria) is the dipped welds. V/Line could do worse than
consult the former AN guys for some advice on track building and
maintenance - but of course - that would never do, would it ! Fancy
admitting that the Croweaters do it better!

Have fun and take plent of pics, but stay OFF the tracks !!
